[C-Gate/Lab] Functions
[C-Gate/Lab] is a innovative DRG (Diagnosis Related Groups) - software tool that helps to link medical report issuing with the coding and procedure of diagnoses (ICD-10).
[C-Gate/Lab] informs at pathologic lab-parameters about plausible coding possibilities and important rules that need to be considered and therefore improves the general quality in coding. Various data from different departments can be given to [C-Gate/Lab] for audit as batch or specific single analysis. If the respective lab-constellation is codeable, [C-Gate/Lab] provides the appropriate diagnosis code, resp. alternatives for coding.
DRG-relevant diagnoses are accentuated and the potential degrees of severity are displayed. For normal results and non-codeable constellations the code is left blank. For proper and plausible coding, the following standardized information is required:
- Kind of examination material ( f.ex. serum, smear, biopsy)
- Examination parameter ( f.ex. potassium/calcium ratio, bacteria strain, etc.)
- Examination result ( f.ex. increased value, parameter proved)
Moreover, additional information on the patient such as age, gender or pregnancy status may be required. [C-Gate/Lab] is built up dynamically. If a lab-constellation is clearly codeable, the diagnosis-code is instantly produced. In case of the possibilty of more coding possibilities, alternatives are displayed in a drop-down menu.
